bookThis month Simon & Schuster has released two new Star Trek titles.

First is "Fearful Symmetry" from the Deep Space Nine universe. The simonsays site teases this book with the following:

"In our universe, a Cardassian sleeper agent -- Iliana Ghemor -- was once surgically altered to resemble and replace resistance fighter Kira Nerys, future Starfleet captain and hero of the planet Bajor's liberation. That plan never reached fruition, and the fate of the agent remained unknown...until now."

The book tells the story of Ghemor and her interactions with Kira Nerys - both in this universe and the mirror universe!

Parallel stories set in both universes reflect and build upon each other in this Two-in-One "Flip Book," the continuation of both the ongoing DS9 saga as well as the Mirror Universe line of books.

bookThe second book is titled "Infinity's Prism", the first offering in the new Myriad Universes series. Three different authors explore the alternate realities, divergent realms and unfathomable might-have-beens in the myraid universes of Star Trek.

Find out more about these two new titles, and many other books from the Star Trek universe, at Simon & Schusters' Star Trek site, simonsays.com.

Remastered Trivia

In 1951, actor Marc Lawrence was called before the House Un-American Activities Committee, where he named several former Communist Party members, including Jeff Corey. This resulted in Corey's blacklisting, and he did not act in movies or television for a dozen years. Meanwhile, he began what became a very successful second career as on of the most highly-regarded acting teachers in Hollywood.

Lawrence exiled himself to Europe for many years while his compatriates were out of work; he would appear years later in guest roles on both TNG and DS9.

Thanks to both the ever-reliable Barbara Hamper and new participant George Meyers for doing the research and sending in the correct answer.
